Just a little note: at the moment, I'M ONLY posting orders within the UK. Thanks so much for understanding.

My story

I'm Natasha Davis, a self-taught linocut printmaker and exhibiting artist now based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

My printmaking journey started in December 2016 when my sister took me to a linocut Christmas card workshop in London. I loved it! Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to commit to practising as I’d decided to start the rather gruelling process of teacher training which consumed the next few years of my life.

Printmaking found me again during the pandemic, when I started carving lino at the kitchen table as a way to slow down and find some calm in the chaos. I was home alone whilst my partner was still out working and it was a very surreal, lonely time. What began as a quiet creative hobby has since grown into something I can't imagine living without. It's followed me through the pandemic, through moving home multiple times, through becoming a mother, through leaving mainstream teaching and through starting a creative not-for-profit with my sister. These days, printmaking is woven into my daily life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My prints are rooted in stories - some from mythology and folklore, some from the Essex landscape, some from my personal world - and as a creative writing graduate, narrative is always somewhere close to the surface of my work. I try to let that instinct guide each piece and make prints that evoke a feeling.

Each print is hand-carved and hand-printed by me, from start to finish. It's a slow, meditative process and one I love deeply. The rhythmic carving of the lino is still, after all these years, my favourite part.

As well as making prints, I teach small-group linocut workshops, where anyone (including beginners) can come along, have a cuppa and discover the magic of the printmaking process for themselves.

I am also a proud exhibiting artist, having now been selected for the Essex Open at the Beecroft Gallery three years running (2023, 2024 & 2025) and having held my first solo exhibition at Southend Central Library in 2025.
