I'm Natasha Davis, a self-taught linocut printmaker and exhibiting artist based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
Printmaking found me during the pandemic, when I started carving lino at the kitchen table as a way to slow down and find some calm in the chaos of everyday life. What began as a quiet creative experiment has since grown into something I can't imagine living without. These days, printmaking is woven into my daily routine, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My work is rooted in the Essex landscape: its coastline, its skies, its quieter corners. I'm drawn to places that carry a sense of story, and as a creative writing graduate, narrative is always somewhere close to the surface of my prints. I try to let that instinct guide each piece and to make prints that evoke a feeling.
Each print is hand-carved and hand-printed by me, from start to finish. It's a slow, meditative process and one I love deeply. The rhythmic carving of the lino is still, after all these years, my favourite part.
As well as creating original linocut prints, I teach small-group linocut workshops in Essex, where beginners and curious makers can come along, have a cuppa, and discover the magic of the process for themselves.
I am also a proud exhibiting artist selected for the Essex Open three years running (2023, 2024 & 2025) and having held a solo exhibition at Southend Central Library in 2025.
