Join a friendly introduction to the art of linocut printmaking!
Linocut printmaking is a form of relief printing, where you carve away portions of the block to bring your design to life. In this workshop, you'll learn how to transfer your designs onto a lino block, carve your block safely, and ink and print your creations. During the session, you'll work on two projects: a mini mark-making block to get you started, and a larger 10cm x 15cm block to refine your skills.
You'll go home with your two lino blocks and multiple copies of your artworks, to keep or gift to friends and family.
All printmaking equipment is provided. Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
Printmaking can be an inky business, so do bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting messy!
This workshop is designed for adults, but students aged 16+ are welcome to join, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
