A handmade original linocut print printed on Japanese HoSho paper in a deep purple ink.
Petrified Maidens shows a group of nude figures caught under moonlight, half-woman, half-stone, surrounded by roots and botanical details. This print was inspired by a wander through the beautiful Peak District, where I visited the Nine Ladies stone circle.
Due to the nature of printing by hand, there will be variations in every print. Each print is unique.
Each print is hand-pulled on off-white Japanese Hosho paper. This paper naturally has tiny speckles and fibres which can be visible on the paper.
